TIF Joint Review Board

Berwyn's Joint Review Board (JRB) is a state-required oversight body established to review the performance and administration of Tax Increment Financing (TIF) districts. The Board is comprised of representatives from major taxing bodies that serve the community, such as Berwyn North and South school districts, District 201, Metropolitan Water Reclamation District (MWRD), Cook County, and other affected public agencies, along with a local community member.

Held annually and open to the public, Joint Review Board meetings provide an opportunity to review the City’s Annual TIF Reports submitted to the State and discuss current, completed, and upcoming projects within each district.

Through the Joint Review Board process, the City of Berwyn demonstrates its commitment to accountability, transparency, and responsible stewardship of public resources. These discussions help ensure that TIF investments continue to support economic growth, strengthen neighborhoods, enhance infrastructure, and create opportunities that benefit residents, businesses, and the broader community.
