Interested in a Finish Line Grant?
Administered by the Berwyn Development Corporation (BDC), the Finish Line Grant is a redevelopment incentive available to businesses and commercial property owners located within Berwyn’s three active Tax Increment Financing (TIF) districts: Harlem/Cermak, Depot, and Roosevelt Road.
The program provides capital reimbursement for both interior and exterior renovations helping businesses invest in their spaces and, in turn, enhance the economic vitality of the community. Examples of qualifying work include: façade improvements, interior buildouts, rodent abatement, and the installation or maintenance of life safety and security systems.

Familia Fresh Market applied for and received a Finish Line Grant of $12,315.88 to replace their entrance doors and install cart corrals. Since its inception in 2008, Familia Fresh Market has been a staple of the community, offering fresh produce and quality customer service. How to apply
Looking to complete some business or property renovations? You may be eligible for the BDC’s Finish Line Grant.
To meet preliminary eligibility, you must first:
- Be a business or commercial property owner located in the Depot, Harlem/Cermak, or Roosevelt Road TIF Districts,
- Submit a completed application prior to beginning qualifying work. Work may begin once an award decision has been made.
Awards are calculated using a tiered reimbursement structure based on estimated project expenses. As shown in Table 1, reimbursement rates range from 20% to 50%, with the highest percentages awarded to smaller project totals, with the maximum award capped at $50,000.00 per property.
