    Job Summary:

    The Marketing Manager is a key member of the BDC team, responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies to promote Berwyn as a thriving business and residential community. This role requires a creative, strategic, and results-oriented individual with a passion for community development and a strong understanding of modern marketing techniques. The Marketing Manager will lead all marketing initiatives, including digital marketing, public relations, event promotion, brand management, and the creation of three annual publications, to achieve the BDC's mission.

    Responsibilities:

    • Strategic Marketing Planning:
      • Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing plan aligned with the BDC's strategic objectives.
      • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities and trends, specifically geared towards the 4 major departments.
      • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns.
    • Digital Marketing:
      • Manage and optimize the BDC's website (5 websites), social media platforms (5+ Facebook accounts, 3 Instagram accounts and 1 LinkedIn account), and email marketing campaigns (5-6 monthly e-blast). 
      • Create engaging content for digital channels, including blog posts, social media updates, and email newsletters.
      • Implement updates and changes to websites. 
      • Implement SEO and SEM strategies to increase online visibility and drive traffic.
      • Utilize analytics tools to track and report on digital marketing performance.
    • Public Relations and Communications:
      • Write press releases, media advisories, and other communication materials.
      • Manage media inquiries.
      • Maintain an active relationship and open lines of communication with outside PR firm. 
      • Manage the BDC brand, including the 4 major departments, and ensure brand consistency.
    • Event Promotion:
      • Develop and execute marketing plans for BDC events, including business networking events, community festivals, and promotional campaigns.
      • Assist in the coordination of event logistics and help manage event marketing budgets.
      • Promote events through various marketing channels, including digital, print, and community outreach.
    • Content Creation:
      • Develop and manage the creation of high-quality marketing materials, including brochures, flyers, presentations, and videos.
      • Ensure consistent brand messaging and visual identity across all marketing channels.
      • Manage photo and video assets.
      • Work with outside agencies in the production of visual and written content for print and online marketing. 
    • Annual Publications:
      • Lead the creation and production of three annual publications (two 22 page magazines and one 96 page community resource guide), including content development, design coordination, printing, and distribution.
      • Ensure publications align with the BDC's brand and messaging and effectively communicate key information to target audiences.
      • Manage publication budgets, timelines, and vendor relations.
    • Collaboration and Partnership:
      • Collaborate with BDC staff, board members, and community partners to achieve marketing goals.
      • Build and maintain relationships with local businesses and organizations.
      • Assist with tailored marketing calls and business assistance to support small businesses. 
    • Management Responsibilities:
      • Report to Executive Director with progress updates
      • Report to the BDC board with monthly updates
      • Manage a team of 2-3 team members 
      • Develop and manage the marketing department's budget.
      • Track expenses and ensure cost-effective marketing initiatives.

     

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in marketing, preferably in a non-profit, economic development, or community-focused organization.
    • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful marketing campaigns.
    • Strong understanding of digital marketing principles and best practices.
    • Strong understanding of website platforms like Wix, WordPress, and basic HTML.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proficiency in social media management, email marketing, and website content management systems.
    • Experience leading the creation of printed publications.
    • Experience with graphic design and video editing software is a plus.
    • Strong project management and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Passion for community development and a commitment to Berwyn's success.
    • Knowledge of the Berwyn area is a plus.
    • Spanish proficiency a plus.

     

    Salary and Benefits:

    • Starting range $65,000 to $75,000
