Berwyn Banner Program

In an effort to enhance the aesthetic of the commercial corridors, the BDC reached to members and non-members alike to participate in the ongoing banner program.

Thus far, the banner program has a myriad of prestigious and prominent Berwyn business owners as participants. To date, there are 78 banners installed. Participants of the program have the choice of displaying their banner(s) on any of the following business corridors: Roosevelt Road, Cermak Road, Depot District, Ogden Avenue, 26th Street, and Harlem Avenue.

The banners will display business names for the duration of one year on any of the streets mentioned above. BDC members will be charged a fee of $150 and non-members $200 per banner for this program.

Business 2 Community (B2C)

The recently launched Business 2 Community (B2C) advertising program provides members with an opportunity to have their promotional materials and coupons delivered to all households in Berwyn.

The door-to-door drop off program reaches approximately 5,000 house holds each quarter to a different zone. Starting in August, the B2C program will be targeting Zone 1, Roosevelt Road to 16th Street from Lombard to Harlem.

The BDC membership includes a free ad distribution in one of the packet distributions, enabling members to target a specific distribution area in Berwyn. Members can participate in multiple distributions for an additional fee of $100 for each one.

The materials are enclosed in a Berwyn and BDC-branded envelopes, which draws more attention and interest among residents. These packets include a cover letter from the BDC with information on upcoming events and updates on economic activities in Berwyn. Members who sign-up to be part of this program are only required to submit 5,000 copies of their promotional material or coupon. The BDC handles insertions into the distribution packets. Results have proven successful for many local businesses who have experienced an increase in sales with more residents being aware of local promotions.

Distribution schedule for 2008:

• Zone 1 - August 15.  From Roosevelt Road to 16th Street.

• Zone 2 - November 15.  From 16th Street to Cermak Road.

• Zone 3 - February 15.  From Cermak to 31st Street.

• Zone 4 - May 15.  From 31st Street to Perishing Road.

BDC Business and Community Newsletter

The business and community newsletter is distributed to all Berwyn businesses and all 20,000 plus Berwyn households. The newsletter provides quarterly updates on the BDC's marketing and economic development initiatives as well as community news, chamber of commerce activities, a list of upcoming special events and after hours, new BDC members, available commercial properties and more.

In additional, to the quarterly distribution to Berwyn's 20,000 plus households and businesses, newsletters will also be available at local shops, banks and the City Hall.

Don't miss out on targeting the Berwyn consumer. This is an excellent marketing vehicle to expose your product/service. With that in mind the BDC is announcing our new newsletter as program which is open to all members.

BDC E-Blast News Bulletin

Attention BDC members!!! Submit your E-mail message for distribution today.  

The BDC currently has a database of 3,500 plus E-mail addresses from residents, City official, Berwyn businesses and friends.  E-mail blasts will be sent out every Wednesday. The deadline to submit your content is every Tuesday at 3pm. Late arrivals will not be considered until the following week. If you are submitting an image, please attach image in jpeg or PDF format.

2008-2009 Community Resource Guide - coming out this September.

The Berwyn Development Corporation is pleased to announce plans for production of the 2008-2009 Community Resource Guide, scheduled to be released in September 2008. This year we are partnering with the Liberty Suburban Newspaper who will assist us with the outreach and development of the Guide. This is an excellent opportunity to promote your business in one of our community's most in-demand publication.

The Guide will go out to all 20,000 households and 1,200 businesses in Berwyn. It will serve as a key-business tool for our members and a key-reference tool for our members and a key-reference guide for residents and newcomers to the area. Copies will also be made available at all public venues in Berwyn and surrounding areas, such as the Oak Park Convention and Visitors Bureau, where thousands of tourists pour in each year to gain access to local information. In addition to being a "yellow pages" resource covering Berwyn and surrounding area businesses, the Community Resource Guide will include information on City services, BDC events and other important community-based information in Spanish and English. The publication is updated yearly to ensure that we have the most up-to-date and accurate information on our members and businesses.
